Three years of L!STEN—where has the time gone? Since launching in April 2023 as a collaboration between PIE and Stockport Council, the L!STEN Youth Alliance has continued to grow as a powerful platform for young people’s voices. Through key annual events like the Youth Summit and Wellbeing Festival, we’ve created spaces for young people to connect, share, and be heard—often in rooms they never imagined stepping into.
This year has been especially memorable, from receiving the honour of a British Citizenship Youth Award to organising and hosting the Stockport Youth Awards, celebrating the incredible achievements of young people across the borough.
Looking ahead, this next year will focus on key priorities identified directly by young people as areas needing real improvement. We’ll be working to expand employment and work opportunities, strengthen youth communication and the visibility of available opportunities, and advocate for safer spaces and better travel options—ensuring that young people feel supported, informed, and able to access the experiences and places that matter to them.
Have a read through this year's overview to see what we've been up to!
