Two groups of students from Unity Academy in Blackpool enjoyed celebration trips to Manchester after completing PIE’s Future Ready programme last academic year. The trips were a chance to recognise their hard work, spend time together and celebrate everything they had achieved.

The boys travelled by train to Manchester before heading to the Trafford Centre. Their day included laser tag, a delicious Pizza Hut buffet and time to explore the shops—a fun way to round off their programme!

The girls explored Manchester city centre and put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test in an escape room. They also visited the Museum of Illusions before travelling back to Blackpool.

For some of the young people, this was their first visit to Manchester, making the trips even more special. It was wonderful to give them the opportunity to explore somewhere new and experience what the city has to offer.

Getting out and trying new experiences is a lovely way to celebrate the students’ achievements while giving them opportunities to build confidence and strengthen friendships.

We loved spending these days with two wonderful groups. A huge well done to everyone who took part in the programme—you should be proud of your hard work!
