Make Good & Listen Walking Group – An Alpaca Adventure!

On Saturday, some of the Make Good & Listen group enjoyed a lovely outdoor walk with friends!

We headed to White Peak Alpaca Farm in Knutsford for a special activity – Alpaca Walking. Before meeting the alpacas, we stopped off at the cosy pub next door for a quick snack and drink.

Then it was time to meet our fluffy walking partners! We were introduced to the alpacas, had chance to take some very cute photos, and then set off on our walk. The group guided the alpacas around the farm, meeting plenty of other animals along the way, including turkeys, chickens, wallabies and more. We even passed other alpacas and got to watch how they interacted with each other.

Our guide, Jake, shared lots of fun facts about the alpacas as we walked. The alpacas themselves were calm, friendly… and very greedy! They needed lots of encouragement to keep moving instead of stopping to munch the grass.

After our walk (and lots more photos!), we said goodbye to the alpacas and popped by to see some very friendly sheep. To finish off the trip, we visited the farm’s gift shop, where the owner was demonstrating how she weaves alpaca wool on a traditional spinning wheel. The shop was full of slippers, rugs and teddies made from alpaca wool – all beautifully soft!

The group absolutely loved the day – it was fun, relaxing, and full of smiles. One of our participants had this to say:
