Welcome to L!STEN!
The L!STEN Youth Alliance is a collaboration between PIE and Stockport Council. This work was commissioned in April 2023 and will run until March 2026.
Over three years, we will look to ensure we are engaging with as many young people across Stockport as possible to ensure that voices are heard, youth issues are discussed, and that this information is appropriately fed back to members of the council to help inform future planning.
YEAR 2

REPORT
Here are our key success from Year 2 of L!STEN

Year on year growth & broadening of reach for surveys – on average over 1,000 responses a month up from an average of 313 in Year 1.

A growing steering group representing the growing diversity of young people in Stockport.

Engaging with local leaders more regularly as a forum to inform and shape youth services and decisions.

Stronger relationships with senior leaders and active participation from a range of stakeholders to help L!STEN to young people.

Aligning with local initiatives (like the 5 Ways to Feel Good) to ensure young people’s voice is directly influencing and impacting strategic change in Stockport.

Moved towards a sustainable and meaningful feedback loop (including report sharing, you said we did, representation at meetings and being embedded in governance) to demonstrate the impact of youth voice and the changes it has helped to influence

Strategic development of relationships with local educational establishments and community organisations to engage with a broader range of young people (including representation of SEND voice).

Youth Summit success – higher attendance and a truly youth led event, with schools and young people identifying ways of improving wellbeing (pledges).

Working with the Youth Council so any issues identified by L!STEN can be progressed by this group of young people (regionally and nationally).
