New Year, New Projects!

Over the past few months we have been busy looking at securing funding and contracts for upcoming projects. We have so many existing projects continuing, as well as some exciting new projects starting, and we wanted to tell you a little bit about what we are going to be up to!

AutoTrader UKWe have recently confirmed a new partnership with AutoTrader UK for PIE to deliver outreach and careers events across the North West with the support of AutoTrader volunteers. We can't wait to see how this new partnership develops, and help to provide career advice and support for a wider number of young people across the north west; this partnership will look to support over 600 young people over the next 6 months! Our first events will be taking place in Blackpool on Thursday 26th September, and in Tameside on Wednesday 16th October. Get in touch if you would like to get involved.

If you're interested in taking part:

Hate Crime Awareness - over the summer we confirmed funding from MACC to run a two day Hate Crime Awareness programme with students at Chorlton High School. This will be looking at gaining young people's views and experiences of hate crime in their school and community, as well as completing activities with students to tackle hate crime.

Climate Action Now Stockport Council - we are excited to have been funded to run two social action projects in two Stockport secondary schools focussed on taking climate action. This work will lead in to our wider work leading the L!STEN Youth Alliance, and will link to workshops at next years Stockport Youth Summit that we will be running in February 2025.

Shaping Care Funding - As part of the national Regional Care Cooperative agenda, we have been awarded funding to run a new project aimed at working with young people with care experience to help shape the future of services for young people in care, and care leavers. 'Make Good and Listen' will be a collaboration with our friends at Make Build Grow, and will combine creative activities with gathering youth voice. We are excited that this will include working with John Lewis, Cheadle to raise awareness and support for young people with care experience.

Henry Smith Charity - We're going to London! We will be taking 16 young people to London in October thanks to funding from the Henry Smith Charity. We are busy planning this day out and can't wait to explore the capital city with our young people.

HAF October Half Term - we will be running three days of activities in Marple over the October half term thanks to funding from Stockport Council. We are also excited to be running a pilot session that week with our friends at Stockport County Community Trust which will work with teenagers to plan and run engaging activities for older students over the school holidays.

Creative Wavers - In addition to launching our Wave of change 10 programme, we have secured additional UKSPF funding that is going to be supporting creative Stockport Women to develop their own creativity and look at how they can turn this into employment and paid opportunities. This will again be a collaboration with The Goodness Collective, as well as looking to engage with as many local creative organisations as possible to support these women on their journeys.

We can't wait to get all of these new projects of the ground, as well as starting up all of our school partnerships again over the coming weeks and months!
