Two Weeks of Summer HAF – And What a Two Weeks It’s Been!

This summer we’ve been lucky enough to deliver our programme from a bigger and better venue, giving the children so much more space to play, explore and enjoy being outdoors. And, thankfully, the British weather has actually been on our side for once! With plenty of dry and sunny days, we’ve been able to make the most of all that amazing outdoor space.

What we've been up to:

L!STEN

Our L!STEN group have had a busy month! Preparing for the Wellbeing Festival as well as keeping up with their usual responsibilities. For the next few months, the group are focusing on the visibility of youth opportunities in Stockport - an area they feel really passionately about improving!

L!STEN Wellbeing Festival

Our annual Wellbeing Festival was a huge success! Check out our blog coming soon to read more about what we got up to there.

Listen, Act, Change

The LAC group worked hard on a campaign to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. The group created a podcast called We All Have Mental Health by interviewing members of the public at our annual Wellbeing Festival. Keep an eye on our social media—the podcast will soon be available to listen to on Spotify!

Step Up Blackpool Trip

The Step Up group enjoyed a fantastic trip to Blackpool, including visiting the top of Blackpool Tower, going on rides at the pier and playing on the beach. It was a brilliant day, giving the young people an opportunity to get to know one another and bond before starting high school in the coming weeks.

Moving On

Moving On is a free, funded creative programme for young people aged 11–17 from Adswood and Bridgehall who are not currently attending formal education. Young people can work towards a nationally recognised Arts Award while building connections, developing new skills and gaining confidence to achieve their goals. Sessions are small-group and neurodivergent-friendly, taking place from 11am–2pm on Wednesdays during term time.

Youth Boost

Youth Boost is a free, funded programme offering creative activities for young people aged 11–17 who are awaiting their next steps. It provides an opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised Arts Award in small-group, neurodivergent-friendly sessions. Young people can make connections, learn new skills and develop the confidence to achieve their goals. Sessions take place from 11am–2pm on Tuesdays during term time.

To find out more or register your interest in any of these programmes, please contact Ciara at ciara@pieuk.org.

Could your organisation offer a young person a small taste of the world of work?

NextGen is looking for Stockport organisations to offer simple micro work experiences - from a workplace visit or short project to a half-day taster. It’s an easy, low-commitment way to support local young people, build your social value and showcase your sector. PIE will support you throughout. Could you offer something small that could make a big difference? Contact shelley@pieuk.org
