Two Weeks of Summer HAF

– And What a Two Weeks It’s Been!
And just like that, our main two weeks of Summer HAF are complete! It’s hard to believe how quickly they’ve flown by, but what a brilliant couple of weeks we’ve had.
This summer we’ve been lucky enough to deliver our programme from a bigger and better venue, giving the children so much more space to play, explore and enjoy being outdoors. And, thankfully, the British weather has actually been on our side for once! With plenty of dry and sunny days, we’ve been able to make the most of all that amazing outdoor space.
Something Different Every Day
One of the things we love most about HAF is being able to offer such a wide variety of activities, giving every child the chance to find something they enjoy.
Over the past two weeks we’ve had football, basketball, forest school, sports day activities, inflatables, outdoor games and plenty more.
And then there have been the crafts… so many crafts!
We’ve designed our own T-shirts, decorated tote bags, made bracelets, painted rocks and created more masterpieces than we could possibly count. It’s been lovely seeing the children getting stuck into the creative activities just as much as the sports.
Our aim has always been to make HAF somewhere children can come along and enjoy their holidays in their own way. Not every child wants to spend the day playing football, and not every child wants to sit and craft, so having lots of different options means there really is something for everyone.
Familiar Faces and Lots of New Ones
Another thing that makes our HAF programme so special is the children and families who return to us holiday after holiday.
We’ve welcomed back so many familiar faces this summer, including children who have been joining us for several years. Seeing them come through the doors again and watching friendships pick straight back up where they left off is always lovely.
At the same time, we’ve welcomed lots of new children and families this summer too. Starting somewhere new can sometimes feel a little daunting, so it’s been brilliant watching children settle in, make new friends and become part of the group.
For us, HAF is about much more than simply filling the school holidays. It’s about giving children opportunities to get active, try new things, be creative, build confidence and spend time with other children in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Finishing in Style
Of course, anyone who has joined us before will know that we like to finish our weeks in style!
Our Friday party days have once again been a huge hit, and our final day was no exception. We had our inflatable obstacle course, sports day activities, hook-a-duck, rock painting and plenty of games.
And we may even have finished with a cheeky chippy for lunch… shhh, don’t tell anyone!
It was the perfect way to round off an action-packed couple of weeks.
Summer Isn’t Over Yet…
While our main two weeks of HAF delivery might now be complete, we’ve still got a few things to look forward to before the summer holidays are over.
Our Cinema Day took place on Monday 10th August, with another Cinema Day on 1st September. We also have our Manchester trip coming up. This is currently fully booked, but families are welcome to join the waiting list in case any spaces become available.
Finally, we want to say a huge thank you to every child and family who has joined us this summer. Whether this was your first HAF with us or you’ve been coming back year after year, we hope your children have enjoyed these two weeks as much as we have.
We’ve made plenty of memories, welcomed new faces, caught up with old ones and somehow managed to fit a LOT into two weeks!
For those joining us for our remaining summer activities, we’ll see you very soon. And for everyone else, we look forward to welcoming you back in the next school holidays.
