What have we been up to?
Culture Kitchen
After being with the group since December, our Culture Kitchen project at St Annes has come to an end! This group has been a pleasure to work with and it's great to see all that they have achieved.
TEMA trip to Trafford!
To celebrate the end of the project and their hard work, the group from TEMA visited the Trafford Centre where they enjoyed some games of laser tag and a delicious Wing Stop!
Unity Blackpool
Our Future Ready programme is in full swing - this month the group have done personality tests, made vision boards and started planning their social action campaigns.
Step Up Peer Mentor Celebration Trip
We cannot believe how much this group has grown from the Step Up programme they took part in last year. To celebrate their achievements, we went to Parrs Wood for a game of laser tag and some food.
L!STEN ACT CHANGE
We're so happy our new programme has finally kicked off, the first action lab was a great success and it was lovely to see all the young people in action! We are still looking to engage as many young people in Stockport as we can with our new L!STEN ACT CHANGE programme and have been popping into lots of community groups running engagement sessions.
L!STEN
We had a busy session at L!STEN this month, preparing to showcase our experiences of public transport as well as continuing to explore the topic of work and employment opportunities.
Tameside Tracks Fairfield
The group will be visiting the new mural at Fairfield Station which was created through a school competition celebrating the local community. They will also be having a celebration session to recognise all of their hard work on the project.
Make Good & L!STEN Walking Group
Our walking group have been enjoying exploring different parks around Stockport and visiting the colourful plastic shed murals on the local mural trail. It has been a fun way to stay active and connect as a group.
Tameside Digital Exploration
Ciara has been delivering sessions with Starting Point Community Learning Partnership covering podcast making, opinions on the under-16 social media ban, online hate and power & influence in the media.
Moving On
The Moving On group have been getting involved in local social action by helping to create an outdoor space at a shop in Stockport town centre. The group has also continued getting active through regular local walks.
Step Up Peer Mentors & Family Fun Day
The Step Up Peer Mentors worked hard to plan and deliver the Step Up Family Fun Day at Make Good. The event was a huge success and gave the new cohort and their families the chance to learn more about the programme through fun activities and conversations with the mentors.
NextGen
We’ve been working in partnership with MakeGood and the Cats Cauldron as part of the next stage in our NextGen programme. In small groups, we’ve renovated the space behind the cats cauldron in Stockport to create a welcoming environment for community groups to use. Everyone has been really involved with all different kinds of DIY projects such as, painting/decorating, gardening and designing the space.
