February Holiday Club, plus More Warm & Well...

During the February half-term holidays, we were able to run sessions for local families thanks to the DWP Household Support Fund. Our first day saw us joined by Sara from Saz Media for an outdoor walk and photography workshop. We looked at Heidi Alexander who photographed Stockport and has an exhibition in the town centre. The children discussed what they like in Marple and off we went to capture images. The children showed incredible listening skills as well as a real flair for photography! The children’s images will be featured in Stockport Art Gallery very soon, we can’t wait to take the children to see their pictures.

Our second day saw us back at Marple’s Regent Cinema to watch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. We were joined by our friends from Starting Point, it’s so lovely to collaborate with other local social enterprises. After the film, we took our lunch into the park provided by Star Point and have a run round.

Here at PIE, we have also been part of the Warm & Well campaign running in Stockport this winter. Here’s a bit about the campaign: ‘Winter can be tough for everyone in Stockport. With extra pressures this year caused by the rising cost of living, we want to make sure that all residents stay warm and well through the colder months.'

At PIE we decided to run family-friendly events providing a warm space as well as an activity for families to do together. So far we have run family cinema days watching Sing 2 and most recently Puss in Boots as well as craft events! Our final craft weekend is coming up on the 26th of March, see below for booking details.

Here’s what one of our families had to say about one of our events:

“It was so nice to be able to take my daughter out and do something together in these tough times. Thank you for putting on such a fabulous event we both really enjoyed it.”

These events are open to all families - just get in touch to book your place!
