Easter HAF 2024

This year we've been busy in two locations! We did two days at Dial Park with Stockport County and three days in Marple. All facilitated and organised by our own Easter Bunny Gemma, who delivered 100 Easter Eggs in the days before the break!

Here's Ciara & Munji to tell us more about what they got up to:

Day 1 Stockport County - Ciara: With help from Evie, Eleanor and Rex we delivered a session focusing on the topic 'What makes you happy?'. We got the young people to mind map and think of things which make them happy. We had some lovely answers! Then the young people had the chance to make either a keyring, magnet or bracelet which represented something that makes them happy. I think the young people enjoyed thinking about little things which make them happy and sharing it with the group.

Day 1 Marple - Munji: Whilst Ciara was busy supporting Stockport County with their HAF Provision, we were joined by their Co-Ordinator Brendan who led our session. Our plans for a day in the great outdoors was ruined by the awful weather, but Brendan was totally prepared for this and had lots of indoor activities planned! The group had lots of fun working on their coordination, reactions and teamwork. There were also some much-needed colouring breaks in between!

Day 2 Stockport County - Ciara: Evie, Eleanor and I were very busy delivering a session for Stockport County's HAF. To get into the spring vibes, we set up all the materials for the young people to make sheep!  The young people were very creative, and we had pink sheep, spotty sheep and multicoloured sheep! It was lovely to see the creative ideas.

Day 2 Marple - Munji: One of our favourite HAF activities is visiting Marple Regent Cinema – Edwin and the team are always so welcoming! The film we chose was Hop, obviously we had to stick to the Easter theme! Our young people really enjoyed the movie and so did the local families that we also opened up the cinema to. We then had a very rainy lunch at the park before heading home to dry off!

Day 3 Marple - Munji: On our final day of activities, the sunshine eventually made an appearance! We had an exciting day of arts and crafts planned and led by Jen from Make Good. The activity the group enjoyed the most was the spray painting, the finished pieces look excellent!

A big thanks to everyone who supported our HAF activities and to Startpoint for their delicious lunches that the group loved!
